Surron is Coming Back to Fieldays 2026

3 min read

Surron New Zealand is heading back to the National Fieldays for the third year running, and this year we are bringing our most capable lineup yet. We will be at Site F28 at Mystery Creek in Hamilton from 10 to 13 June 2026, with live test rides, product demos, Q&A sessions, and a team who loves talking about what these bikes can do on a farm.

Whether you are a farmer looking for a smarter way to get around your property, or you are simply curious about what electric bikes can do in the real world, Fieldays 2026 is your chance to see it for yourself.

New Zealand farming is one of the most emissions-intensive industries in the country. Decarbonising how we move around the farm is one of the simplest and most immediate steps we can take. That is what Surron is here for.

What is Fieldays?

The National Fieldays at Mystery Creek is the Southern Hemisphere's largest agricultural event. Every June, over 100,000 visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors gather at Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton to see the latest in farming technology, innovation, and rural industry.

For farmers, it is the place to find practical new tools and ideas. For the general public, it is an eye-opening look at the technology shaping how New Zealand grows and produces food. For Surron New Zealand, it is the most important event of the year.

Our 2026 Lineup: Two Bikes Built for New Zealand Farms

This year we are showcasing two bikes that cover the full range of what a Surron can do on a New Zealand farm. Both models are low maintenance, require no petrol, and need no engine oil changes. Whether you are running a lifestyle block or managing a large station, one of these will suit your needs.

Surron Light Bee X

Surron Light Bee X electric farm bike

Surron Light Bee X — lightweight electric farm bike

The Light Bee X is the bike that started it all for Surron in New Zealand. Lightweight, nimble, and purpose-built for getting around the farm quickly without causing ground damage. At 57kg it is easy to handle, easy to ride, and built for farmers who need a reliable, quiet run-around.

Farmers use the Light Bee X for checking fences, mustering, moving between paddocks, and general property work. It handles trails, rough terrain, and wet conditions with ease, and because it runs on electric, it is quiet enough not to startle livestock.

Weight 57kg
Power Modes Eco / Sports
Range Up to 75km per charge
Torque 266 Nm
Braking Regenerative braking
Maintenance No petrol, no engine oil, less time in the workshop

Surron Ultra Bee HP

It handles mud, clay, sand, and steep gradients with confidence. Easy enough for any skill level to operate, with no clutch, no gears, no flooding, and no stalling. In 2026 it is also available with our new farm carrier racks, making it an even more practical workhorse.

What NZ Farmers Are Saying

Do not just take our word for it. Here is what real New Zealand farmers who are already running Surron bikes on their properties have to say.

"I have been using the Surron Ultra Bee on our 150ha dairy farm in the Waikato for over 6 months now. I would never go back to a petrol powered two wheeler. The bike is brilliant on all terrain and with the added traction control feature it makes any gradient a lot easier to manage. Getting cows in silence in the early mornings is brilliant with no worries about waking the family up when you leave. The battery lasts two days between charging and there is way more power than you will ever need. I have not had one issue with the bike so far. I would highly recommend the Surron for farm work."
Tom Bebbington | Waikato
"We have been using an Ultra Bee and a Light Bee on our farm for nearly 2 years and have been amazed with the performance of both bikes. The bikes are able to handle the wet muddy conditions with ease. With low operating cost these bikes have been a great asset for our farm. These bikes are quiet, smooth and easy to operate."
Marcel & Regula Schweizer | Bay of Plenty
"Really happy with the Ultra Bee for use on our beef farm. Has heaps of range, climbs steep hills easily. Feels planted over uneven ground. Love the park brake for leaving it on the hill."
Tania Maclennan | Te Arai, North Island

Test Rides: Come and Feel It

There is no better way to understand what a Surron can do than to ride one. At Fieldays 2026 we will be running live test rides across all four days so you can experience both models for yourself before making any decisions.

It does not matter if you have never ridden a motorbike before or if you have been riding for decades. Our team will match you to the right model, walk you through the controls, and let the bike do the talking.

  • A current, valid driver's licence is required for all riders
  • Helmets are provided on site at no cost
  • Riders must be able to touch the ground when seated
  • No prior electric bike experience needed
  • Test rides run on a first come, first served basis
  • VIP guests who RSVP in advance can request a dedicated time slot

Live Product Demos

Our team will be running live product demonstrations throughout the day at the booth. See both models up close, learn how they perform in real farm conditions, and compare the specs side by side. No need to book, just walk in.

VIP Guests and Industry Partners

This year we are inviting a select group of VIP guests from across the NZ farming, media, and outdoors industry to visit us at Site F28. We are working with partners who share our commitment to practical, sustainable solutions for New Zealand farms.

If you work in the industry, cover farming in the media, or run a rural business and would like to attend as a VIP guest, reach out to us directly. We will arrange a complimentary day pass and dedicated time with the Surron team. Contact us at sur-ron.co.nz or @surrontechnz.

Q&A Sessions

We will be running open Q&A sessions at the booth throughout all four days. Whether you have a question about a specific model, want to know how Surron fits your farm, or just want to learn more about the company and where we are headed, our team is there to help. No sales pitch, just honest conversation.

We will have a limited number of Surron goodie bags available at Site F28. Swing by early to grab yours.
