One of the questions we get most often is a simple one: can I try a Surron before I buy? Until now the honest answer has usually been to visit a dealer and take a short demo. That is a good start, but it is not the same as spending a proper session on the bike, on real terrain, working out whether it suits how you actually ride.
That has now changed. Thundercross Valley Dirt Bike Park has taken on three of our 2026 bikes for hire, so you can book time on a Surron and ride it the way we intend it to be ridden.
Three bikes, three very different rides
The park holds one of each of our core 2026 models, which happens to be a neat way to feel the range in a single visit.
The Hyper Bee is the most approachable of the three, a sensible place to start if you are newer to this or lighter on experience.
The Light Bee is the model most people picture when they think of Surron, a light and lively off-road bike that rewards an active riding style.
The Ultra Bee sits at the top, with noticeably more power and torque for riders who want the full experience.
Riding all three back to back tells you more than any spec sheet can. Weight, power delivery and how the bike sits underneath you are things you feel rather than read, and an afternoon at the park makes the differences obvious.
Where to find it
Thundercross Valley is a purpose-built dirt bike park in Glen Murray, roughly 1 hour from Auckland and 45 minutes from Hamilton, which puts it within easy reach for a good chunk of the upper North Island.
Full day and half day hire options are available across all three bikes. Booking direct with the park is the best way to check availability and lock in a session.
